Credit Union Opens in Langney
Stephen Lloyd MP opened the East Sussex Credit Unions’ latest Help Point in Shinewater at the Shaftesbury Centre in Milfoil Drive recently.
The objective of the credit union is to help people out of poverty by offering debt advice and encouraging people to save with them. Regular savers can then access ethical loans of up to £5000.
Stephen said “ In these challenging times where disposable income is dropping local people saving with the credit union becomes ever more critical. Their loans will also help people who would otherwise be exploited by loan sharks.”
The Credit Union is open on Mondays between 12.30 and 2.30pm.
